What it costs for 2018

We have kept the cost to artists as low as possible, but there are costs and a lot of work involved in putting on this event.

All artists must be members of Shropshire Hills Art Week in order to participate in the open studios event. Membership offers lots of benefits of membership.

Member artists may choose to open their own studios, to join with other people in their studios, or to look for other artists to share a joint space. The exhibition fee is payable by all venues, whether they are a single artist studio, or a joint show.

Groups of member artists may join together to find their own exhibition venue, but remember that venues may charge a fee to exhibit, and/or a commission on work sold. This is payable by the artists from their art takings, and is not the responsibilty of SHAW. Artists will still need to be members of SHAW to be promoted in the Art Week. We suggest that you contact your desired venue to discuss their commission or charges well in advance of finalising your plans.

This year, there will also be a small commission on sales payable by joint shows to SHAW as an organisation.

Venues may also join SHAW and get their own page on the website if they wish. In addition, individual adverts are available for purchase in the brochure where space allows, so please contact Jules to discuss your requirements.

The following fees apply from October 2017 until Friday 12 January 2018

All registration and payment must be received by 12 January 2018
