Kate Chitham – painter

My art degree was in Graphic Design from the London College of Printing, which I completed in the early 80s. Most of my working life has been spent in Kent where I have been self employed as either a designer, illustrator or decorative painter. Marrying a farmer in 2001 I helped manage an organic arable farm and asparagus business in Biddenden and found time to develop my painting.

Now settling into the beautiful county of Shropshire new surroundings are bound to feed that passion for painting. Usually working in acrylics much of my inspiration comes from what is around me and what, as a keen gardener, I grow - the brilliance of everyday revealed in glorious colour. Last year I enjoyed working with Sandra Fernandez, a fruitful collaborative process which saw us encourage each other to try different drawing and mono printing processes.
