Jules McRobbie – painter

Bank House, Bishop's Castle SY9 5BQ

Who I am

I am a painter, the Director of SHAW, and a medical editor; I moved back into Ludlow 2 years ago and love the Shropshire Hills landscape, scenery, rivers and hills. I am a keen walker and a slightly mad wild swimmer – show me a puddle or pool and I will find a way to get wet!

What I do

I paint and draw, make collages, paint on silk, and generally like creating interesting and beautiful things. There is never enough time, but I try to make things whenever I can

What inspires me

I love the way the light hits the hills, the colours of stone and brick and wood in vernacular buildings, and movement of water. I am slightly feral at heart – happiest when I am wet and muddy and at one with nature

My work this year

My work will be a mixture of styles, media and subjects – I am starting on a new phase of life and art, and I hope to explore some of this in my work at Bank House

Jules will be exhibiting as part of a joint show at  Bank House in Bishops Castle, SY9 5BQ

Tea and cakes are available, and Bank House also offers Bed and Breakfast in one of its beautifully appointed rooms

It is also the start of the Bishops Castle Sculpture Trail, which is new for Art Week this year; so pick up a trail map!
There are steps at the entrances, so please call for information or assistance: 01588 630026 or 07712 010525
